Dear CHMS Parents and Guardians:

Welcome to the start of the 2021/2022 school year at Chapel Hill Middle School! I am proud to continue our long tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, and fine arts.  My goal is for every student to learn, reach their fullest potential, and have fun!

This letter includes some initial information for the upcoming year including a draft copy of your schedule along with important upcoming events.  For most of our communication, we will send information via email.  Please make sure that our office has your correct email address on file.  If you have any questions, please contact the school office.

Sneak-A-Peek:  Monday, August 2nd from 5:30 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.  During this time, you will be able to meet your student’s teachers, visit classrooms, receive bus information, and much more.

Schedule:  A draft copy of your student’s schedule is attached to this letter.  Sometimes it is necessary to make changes to the schedule in order to balance class sizes, etc. You can view your student’s current schedule online through Parent Portal, which will reflect any changes.  **It is very important that you create a Parent Portal account so that you will be able to view your student’s grades and attendance in real-time throughout the school year.  For directions on how to set up an account, please visit our school website: www.chmswildcats.com

School Day:  School begins at 9:00 A.M. and ends at 4:10 P.M.  Students can be dropped off at school as early as 7:30 A.M.  Students arriving before 8:40 A.M. will stay in the cafeteria.  Students arriving after 8:40 A.M. can go to the cafeteria for breakfast or straight to their first period.  First period begins promptly at 9:00 A.M.  Please ensure that your child is in class and ready to learn by 9:00 A.M. each day.  The school day ends at 4:10 P.M.  Please make sure your student is picked up prior to 4:30 P.M.

First 3 days of school:  Wednesday, August 4th - Friday, August 6th.  Students will report to their Advisement classroom at 8:40 A.M.  The Advisement class is listed on their schedule.
