Friday was a big day at Mason Creek! We all dressed in pink for a pink out to honor those who are fighting or who have fought breast cancer! At the end of the day our amazing bus drivers were presented with keychains for bus driver appreciation week by our 5th graders. They designed and printed them using our 3D printer! We ended the day with our Monster Bash with a lot of our Wolf Cub families! What a great day!! #bettertogether #theCreekisontheRise

Our Hispanic Heritage Month Beanstack Challenge brag tags are coming home on bookbags today!! We are so proud of everyone who earned them by reading 300 minutes, logging it in Beanstack, and turning in a picture they drew of a character from a book they have read. Wolf Cubs have a few more days to beat the October Challenge! This one is reading and logging 300 minutes and writing a review of a book they read in Beanstack! #bettertogether #theCreekisontheRise

Red Ribbon Week is next week! Red Ribbon Week was started in 1985 and highlights the importance of living a drug-free life. It presents an opportunity for parents, educators, and communities to reinforce the drug-free messages they share with their children throughout the year. This year, the national theme is - "Life is a Movie, Film Drug Free!" A little peak into one of our classes! Mrs. Flowers and Ms. Hembree's students ease into the day with 15 minutes of morning work reinforcing a skill they have learned in class while listening to calm music. Doesn't everyone love a soft start to the day? #bettertogether #theCreekisontheRise

Mr. Lockett's 5th Grade reading classes have started a novel study on the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Wonder is about a 10-year-old boy named August Pullman who starts middle school for the first time and experiences bullying, social isolation, and friendship. We can't wait to hear the discussions and ideas they come up with as they read the book! #bettertogether #theCreekisontheRise

Pumpkin Jack is here! This week in the Media Center our K-2 and PEC classes read the book Pumpkin Jack and started our observations of our own Pumpkin Jack. He is sealed in a jar and already starting to release moisture and grow mold. We'll watch him every week to see how he is decomposing until he is just seeds that we can plant to grow new pumpkins for next year! #bettertogether #theCreekisontheRise
